It doesn't matter if it's thanksgiving leftovers, or you are packing dinners for work. Dinner in a jar is a fabulous way to store leftovers, and it's also a great way to send guests home with some of your delicious cooking home with them for a little midnight snack. In the photo we've layered gravy, turkey, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole and then topped it off with some cranberry sauce in a cupcake wrapper for easy removal. Imagine some beef gravy, with beef tips, mashed potatoes, and carrots, or even some cream of chicken soup, mixed veggies, and a biscuit for a quick pot pie. The possibilities are endless, and when it's time to eat, just pour it out on a plate and place it in the microwave for a few minutes. This also save time, as you can simply make more servings of a typical dinner meal, then save it in jars for your week day lunch/dinner.

Honestly, that is the first time I have ever seen this brilliant idea. I love to store my leftovers in glass jars, and have occasionally thought to store more than one thing in a container, but never thought of a meal in a jar. Thanks for the idea.

I love dinner in a jar. I do this sometimes when I know it'll be a busy day.
