Hi Family! Well it's only a matter of a few weeks before school starts. And we are all scurrying around looking for the quickest meals to put on the table. Quick yet nutritious. Well I have got a meal for you. And here's the best thing it is one dish! So no stove full of pots to clean up afterwards. Yes you can breathe now...From start to finish is approximately 95 minutes. But guess what 90 of that is cooking time! So 5 minutes to throw this thing together..How great is that! And here we go.....
5 chicken legs (you can use legs or thighs or all chicken breast if you want too..Your choice. I would recommend cutting your cooking time by about 15 minutes if you use all chicken breast) 2 chicken breasts (see note above) 2 cups of rice (you can use long grain or minute whatever you have on hand) 1 can 10.5 Cream of Chicken soup 1 bag frozen veggies (again you can use broccoli, cauliflower or a vegetable medley) 3 soup cans of water Dash paprika Pour your rice into the dish, add cream of chicken soup, 3 cans of water and stir to break up the soup. Add in frozen vegetables and stir once again. Once that is blended add your chicken pieces on top. (Yes it will seem watery but your rice will soak that right up) Add a dash of paprika and close the lid you are done! Put in a 375 degree oven. Cook for 90 minutes. Dinner is served! Enjoy! This world can be ugly. Just turn on the TV or even log into your social media and you are bombarded with ugliness and all around negativity. Which is why I am always on the lookout for books that I can read with my 4 year old son to help remind us both that there is Light & Beauty in this world, and All Things Bright and Beautiful didn't let me down.
Using the lyrics to the hymn of the same name we are lead through amazingly detailed and colorful illustrations of all of creation. From the children playing in the field to a majestic wolf basking in the rich glow of the moon this book is a great reminder that all things truly are Bright and Beautiful, we only need to take the time to look around us. With it's 32 pages of Beautifully written and colorfully illustrated pictures All Things Bright and Beautiful is a childrens book I was proud to be able to add to my sons growing book collection. About the Author: Cecil Frances Alexander was born in 1818 near Dublin Ireland. She began writing poetry at the age of nine and went on to write hundreds of poems and hymns. Best known for All Things Bright and Beautiful. About the Illustrator: Katy Hudson was raised in Middlesbrough, England, and started her career as a small child drawing on freshly painted walls. Her parents quickly encouraged drawing with pencil and paper instead. The idea stuck, and after earning a degree in illustration, Katy is now a freelance illustrator. Katy works at a desk in a studio within Old London Library and likes to tap dance in her spare time. Grab your own copy of All Things Bright and Beautiful below: Hi Family! Well what goes together better then 7-up and some cherries dropped in a glass? Cherry soda pops of course! Anybody who knows me knows I love anything frozen. Soda, yogurt, grapes, pineapple, applesauce...Getting the picture here? Anyways I thought why not make ice pops. ..So here we go..... You can follow the pics here or if you want to watch a step by step video Check It Out Here! Gather your supplies..Popcicle sticks, Fresh cut cherries, a tsp of maraschino juice in each mold cavity (you really don't need to add that but i liked the taste), enough 7-up to fill the mold, and a piece of foil unless you have the mold bottoms I use popcicle sticks because i remove the pops when they are done, put them in the freezer and make more..lol Hi family! Somewhere along the line this recipe went awry and is missing and just giving everybody a dead link.. So I am here to revive it so you can make this awesome salad again...Did I mention it is awesome? A great meal for lunch, dinner heck why not a snack! It contains approx 241 calories as stated in MY Fitness Pal..And 13 grams of protein..So here we go!
In a 1 quart mason jar layer as follows... 2 Tbsp Sun Dried Tomato Anything Dressing (Made by Kraft) 4 medium slices of tomato (approx 1/4 inch) 10 slices of turkey pepperoni 1/4 cup of Fat Free Mozzarella Cheese 2-3 cups of lettuce 1 tsp Italian seasoning Screw on lid..You are done..You can refrigerate this for 3-4 days and it will be just as fresh as when you made it. Pour onto plate, bowl or just grab a fork and eat it out of the jar..If your going to do that give the jar a good shake to mix things up a bit. Bon Appetit! Would a Worm go on a Walk? This and many other questions are answered in this amusing children's book by Hannah C. Hall. The silly story and colorful illustrations made this book an immediate favorite for my 4 year old son, who of course loved the worm the best! (what boy wouldn't like an adorable worm in tennis shoes?!?)
With it's 32 pages of full color detail, it seems at first this book will take forever to read but I was delighted to find out that there were only one or two sentences per page, making this a wonderful bedtime or quiet time story that helps children remember just how special they really are in God's eyes, no matter what they look like, or what different abilities they may have. Click the link below to add "Would a Worm go on a Walk?" to your book collection today! Purchase Would a Worm go on a Walk here! *While I was delighted by the whimsical scenes within the pages of "Would a Worm go on a Walk" I do want to take a moment to point out that there is a small section asking if a ladybug would wear lipstick, to which the reply is "No, some ladybugs are males." it felt a bit as if the author was pushing gender rules, which we don't strongly enforce in our home. |
