The other day you met the chickens, today it's time to meet Mama April's 3 Year old lab/chow mix; Ellie.
This week is Ellie's adoption birthday! She was found in a dumpster with her sister when someone rescued her and brought her to the shelter, where we found her and it was love at first sight! While her sister ran around like crazy and chewed on our shoes, Ellie sat there like a princess eager to give kisses. When they told use they guessed her birthday was April 1st, we knew it was meant to be! April 1st was our sons due date (he was delivered via c-section on March 27th) and it was just the sign that we were looking for that she was the dog we'd take home to her fur-ever home. She started so small and has turned into a big goofy love bug.
I don't think we could have found a better dog, My son and her are like 2 peas in a pod and I dare anyone to try to hurt someone in her family. Though we never really let her sleep on the bed, Every time I take a nap, I roll over and find myself nose to snout with my pup! I really don't know what I'd do with out her, shes a source of peace and comfort and warmth to my feet. She enjoys tearing squeeky toys to shreds, and yes, she really does like warm hugs, there are times I'll be sitting on the couch and she comes over just for a hug. (Ok just realized, our chickens like hugs, the dog likes hugs...I'm starting to feel like the Tanner family!!)
Do you have a dog? Go on over to our facebook page and share pix of your pup!!
